Scanning and copying book pages has always been an unwieldy task that  risks damage to the original, with less than satisfactory results. Until now. Unlike typical scanners and copiers, the Book Scanner 5001 doesn't require the book to be turned over and pressed down on a glass plate. Instead, it scans and copies from overhead through contact free digitization. Many scanners can produce good results if pages are removed and flattened. The Indus scanner utilizes revolutionary electronic software that automatically corrects for the convex center fold of an open book. Through integrated plug&play interfaces, the Indus Book Scanner can be linked to PCs and networks. Choose the mode for best clarity: black and white, 16 gray levels or 256 gray level!; for high quality reproduction of photographs, maps and illustrations. Choose between scan and copy mode. An HP or HP-compatible laser printer or digital copier with printer interface can be used as an output device for printed copies.
